Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake has stated that the first result of the 2024 Presidential election is likely to be released by midnight today (Sep. 21).
Making a statement to media, the EC has said that counting of ballots will commence between 8.00pm – 9.00pm after counting centres receive all ballot boxes in their respective areas.
He has also said that counting of postal votes will also commence from 4.00pm.
