The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court has ordered the former CEO of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) – Dr. Vijith Gunasekara to be remanded in custody until May 20, 2024.
He was produced before the court today (May 09) after the CID recorded a statement.
Dr. Gunasekara was arrested by the CID yesterday and was questioned for over 10 hours following his arrest.
The CID apprehended Dr. Gunasekara in connection with the procurement of substandard human intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) vials.
