Former State Minister Lucky Jayawardena has passed away.
He was aged 71.
According to reports, he had passed away at the National Hospital in Kandy.
Jayawardana, a former UNP MP representing the Kandy District, started his political career with the first Provincial Council election in 1988.
He had supported Samagi Jana Balawegaya candidate Sajith Premadasa during the previous presidential election.
