President Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to hold a meeting with former local government heads of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) at the President’s Office today (18).
SLPP General Secretary MP Sagara Kariyawasam said that this discussion is being held to find a solution to the issues faced by SLPP members who submitted nominations for the local government elections.
MP Kariyawasam said that former local government members who submitted nominations had to face severe difficulties in performing their duties socially and especially for the candidates engaged in public service due to the non-holding of the local government elections.
He said that the President will be informed about these situations and the discussion will be held seeking an immediate solution.
