The French police have arrested Ratmalana Gonakovile Kudu Anju, an underworld gang leader and drug trafficker.

The arrest reportedly came following a complaint by Anju’s wife to the police regarding a domestic quarrel.

The French police informed the Sri Lankan defence authorities of the arrest of Kudu Anju two days ago.

The police are working on bringing back Kudu Anju to the country as a red notice has been issued against him by the International police.

Anju has been identified by the Police Narcotics Bureau as one of the country’s top drug traffickers.

He is also accused of involvement in several murders, including the killing of cricketer Dhananjaya de Silva’s father.

It is alleged that Anju ran his criminal activities, which included drug trafficking and murder from Dubai and France.

He reportedly travelled between the two countries using a foreign passport issued in someone else’s name.
