Organized crime gang leader ‘Makilangamuwe Sanjeeva’ alias ‘Ganemulle Sanjeeva’ who was arrested by the immigration officials was handed over to a special team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on the 12th midnight, Immigration and Emigration Controller General Harsha E. Ilukpitiya said.
He said that investigations will be conducted to find out whether the suspect’s passport was forged in a foreign country.
The investigation revealed that the suspect had travelled to Qatar using a forged passport and then travelled to Kathmandu, Nepal.
Mr. Ilukpitiya said that the suspect was arrested for using a forged passport upon his arrival at the Katunayake Airport by a Sri Lankan flight from Kathmandu.
Harak Kata suffers a heart attack
Meanwhile, it was reported that Nadun Chintaka alias ‘Harak Kata’ was taken to the Colombo National Hospital and the Police Hospital for treatment last evening (14) due to a heart attack.
