A member of an organized crime gang involved in multiple criminal activities in the Avissawella area has been arrested.
Upon a tip off, officers from the Western Province (South) Crimes Division have arrested the 31-year old suspect in the Galawila Watta area of Homagama.
Police had also seized 5 grams and 200 milligrams of heroin from the suspect during the arrest.
According to the police, the suspect is linked to several violent crimes such as the injuring of two persons in Avissawella on May 12, 2023 as well as gunning down 03 persons in Avissawella on September 20, 2023.
