An Extraordinary Gazette has been issued amending the scope of eight Ministries.
The Gazette was issued on the directives of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. effective yesterday (22).
Accordingly, the Department of Multipurpose Development Task Force which was under the Ministry of Defence has been brought under the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
Meanwhile, the Kidney Fund which was under the Ministry of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment has been Gazetted under the Ministry of Health and Vidatha Centres that were under the Ministry of Education has been brought under the Ministry of Industries.
The National Institute of Cooperative Development and Regional Economic Centres which were under Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Food Security have been brought under the Ministry of Agriculture.
In addition, the Safeguard Measures Act and the Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act have been included under the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Food Security.
