‘Gemunu’, the well known tusker at the Yala National Park has been shot, reports say.
It is suspected that he had been shot in his right foreleg by a trap gun an wildlife officials are currently treating his injuries.
Gemunu, had broken both his tusks his separate duels with two other tuskers at the park – Sando and Nandimithra. However, since the roots have not been harmed, the tusks are regrowing, according to wildlife officials.
