An Extraordinary Gazette Notification has been issued to implement a Maximum Retail Price (MRP) mechanism for medicines.
The gazette, issued by Health Minister – Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, grants the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) the authority to revise maximum prices twice a year.
Additionally, the authority can adjust prices at any time in response to fluctuations in the dollar exchange rate to protect public interest.
