Govt. MPs barred from flying abroad; crucial meeting on 28th



The Office of the Chief Government Whip has issued a notice to all the MPs of the ruling party that they should stay near Colombo in the last week of this month, it was reported.

The notice has been issued due to a special meeting scheduled to be held on the 28th Wednesday at 5 p.m. with the participation of all the members of the ruling party.

It was said that this meeting is to be held under the chairmanship of the President and the Prime Minister.

A discussion was recently held between President Wickremesinghe and the leaders of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, in which the founder of the party, Basil Rajapaksa, also participated.

The decision to hold the special meeting on the 28th has been taken at the previous meeting.
