The approval rating of the Government has increased to 21% in June 2023 from the 10% that was recorded in February 2023, a Gallup style ‘Mood of the Nation’ poll carried out by Verité Research has revealed.
The survey showed satisfaction with the state of the nation increased only to 12% in June.
The Mood of the Nation poll is conducted periodically by Verité Research and is based on an island wide nationally representative sample of responses.
To the question, “Do you approve or disapprove of the way the current Government is working?” 21% said they approve.
Further, 18% said that they do not have an opinion on the way the current Government is working.
To the question, “In general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in Sri Lanka?” only 12% said they were satisfied.
This rating was at 4% in February 2023 and 7% in October 2022.
The Mood of the Nation survey is designed to assess the approval, satisfaction, and confidence of the nation in relation to the Government, the country, and the economy.
The poll is based on a country-wide nationally representative sample of responses from 1,008 Sri Lankan adults, conducted in June 2023.
