The hearing of the two petitions filed against the proposed Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bill has been concluded at the Supreme Court.
Accordingly, submissions were made in relation to the petitions and the Supreme Court today announced that it has completed the hearing of the petition.
The determination of the Supreme Court pertaining to the Inland Revenue (Amendment) Bill will be directed to the Speaker of House.
The relevant Bill was initially gazetted in July to amend the Inland Revenue Act No. 24 of 2017 but was challenged by two activists before the Supreme Court.
