The Department of Meteorology has announced that light showers are likely to occur in Eastern Province and in Mullaitivu District tonight (March 13).
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Kurunegala district during the afternoon or night, it added.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize risks associated with temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
