The Department of Meteorology says showers or thunderstorms in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, and Northern Provinces, as well as in Anuradhapura, Galle, and Matara Districts after 2:00 PM today (March 22).
Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm can be expected in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, and in the Galle and Matara districts, it said
Additionally, several spells of rain are expected in the Eastern and Uva Provinces, as well as in Hambantota and Polonnaruwa Districts.
The department also warns of misty conditions in the morning in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva Provinces, along with Galle and Matara Districts.
Public is advised to take precautionary measures to minimize damages associated with lightning and temporary strong winds during thunderstorms.
