The Department of Meteorology states that showers or thundershowers may occur in several areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and North-Western provinces after around 2:00 PM today (March 26).
The department further mentions that heavy rainfall of approximately 100mm may occur in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces.
A few showers may also occur in the Eastern Province and the Polonnaruwa District.
The Department of Meteorology also announces that misty conditions may prevail in the morning in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, and Kurunegala districts.
The department kindly requests the public to take necessary precautions to minimize risks caused by temporary strong winds and lightning associated with thunderstorms
