Heavy rains expected in the afternoon

Showers or thundershowers will occur over most places in the country after 2.00 p.m. today, the Meteorology Department said.

It said heavy showers of about 100 mm can be expected at some places in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces.
