Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the country during the afternoon or night, the Meteorology Department said.
It said fairly heavy rains above 75 mm can be expected at some places while rains may occur in Eastern Province during the morning as well.
The Department requested the public to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
