Heavy rains will occur over most parts of the country during the afternoon or night, the Meteorology Department said.
It said heavy showers of about 100 mm can be expected at some places.
Showers will occur in Eastern province and in Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu Districts during the morning.
The Meteorology Department requested the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
