The Department of Meteorology announces that several spells of showers may occur in the Eastern and Uva provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa, Nuwara Eliya, and Matale districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-Western provinces and in the Kandy district after around 2.00 p.m.
Some places may receive heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm.
Misty conditions can be expected in some areas in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
The Department of Meteorology requests the public to take necessary precautions to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thunder-showers.
