HRCSL probes into two teachers beating Royal College student

An investigation has been launched into an incident where two teachers of the Royal college, Colombo had brutally assaulted a grade-11 student, the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) said.

A senior official at the Commission said that the Principal and the two teachers who are said to have attacked the student and named as respondents in the complaint, will soon be summoned to the HRCSL to record their statements.

The HRCSL said the student who was assaulted had been admitted to the National Hospital, Colombo for medical treatment.
