Duminda Hulangamuwa, Senior Economic Advisor to the President, is set to be appointed as the new Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.
This follows the impending departure of current Finance Ministry Secretary Mahinda Siriwardena, who is expected to assume the role of Alternate Executive Director at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), representing Sri Lanka.
This prestigious position at the ADB marks the first time in 12 years that Sri Lanka has secured such a role. The government has already forwarded Siriwardena’s name to the ADB for the appointment.
Hulangamuwa, who previously served as an economic advisor to former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, brings extensive experience in economic policy and financial management.
