Imported milk powder prices to be increased

Milk powder importers have decided to increase the retail prices of imported milk powder with effect from next week.

Accordingly, a 400g packet of imported milk powder will be increased by Rs. 30, while a 01kg packet’s price will go up by Rs. 75, the Milk Powder Importers’ Association announced.

Neil McKenzie appointed consultant coach

Sri Lanka Cricket announces that former South African batsman Neil McKenzie has been appointed as the National Team’s Consultant Coach for a short stint.

Accordingly, he will work with a group of Sri Lankan players who departed for South Africa last night to participate in a pre-series camp ahead of the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa.

“McKenzie will bring in vital, in-depth insights about the South African conditions to help Sri Lankan players adapt to the challenge,” said: Ashley De Silva, CEO, Sri Lanka Cricket.

The former South African batsman, who scored closer to 5,000 international runs for South Africa across formats, will work with the Sri Lankan players from November 13th to 21st.

Met. Department’s website being restored after cyber attack

The website of Sri Lanka’s Meteorological Department is currently being restored after a cyber attack disrupted its services early last week, Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) says.

The cyber attack had taken place on Nov. 01, according to Senior Information Officer at SLCERT Charuka Damunopola.
“Due to this cyber attack, changes were detected on the Meteorological Department’s official website. Following preliminary investigations, necessary measures are underway to restore the website, with further inquiries ongoing to assess the full impact,” he has said.

Mr. Damunopola further confirms that initial findings indicate no data was accessed or stolen by external parties, however, SLCERT continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure the website’s functionality and security are fully restored.
