The body of an infant stuffed in a fertilizer sack was from a three-wheeler parked near several line houses in the Henfold Tea Estate, in the Agarapathana Police division.
The discovery was made by the three-wheeler driver’s mother, who had noticed a strong odor emanating from the three-wheeler.
Agarapathana Police said that the preliminary investigations have revealed that the driver of the three-wheeler, who is a resident of the same estate, had returned home this morning (Sep. 10) after going on a hire and had parked the three-wheeler himself.
Police also said that facts will be reported to the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate’s Court concerning the infant’s body, and further investigations will be conducted.
