An injunction order has been issued preventing the expulsion of non-Cabinet Minister Ali Zahir Moulana from the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC).
The injunction order was issued by the Colombo District Court today (Aug 28).
The order has been issued against the Leader, Secretary and the High Command of the SLMC preventing the expulsion of MP Ali Zahir Moulana from the party.
Recently, MP Moulana had pledged his support for President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the upcoming Presidential election, despite the SLMC led by MP Rauff Hakeem, pledging their conditional support to Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
Following this, SLMC Batticaloa district MP Ali Zahir Moulana was sworn in as a Non-Cabinet Minister of Development Projects last week.
