An inmate who escaped from the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre during a clash last Sunday has succumbed while receiving treatment in hospital.
He had been rescued in the jungle area in Welikada and admitted to hospital in a starving condition but had died in hospital, the police spokesman has said.
