The United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed March 21 as the International Day of Forests each year to serve as a platform to raise awareness about the crucial role of forests in sustaining life on Earth.

Sri Lanka’s national celebration of the event is scheduled to take place today (March 21) in Homagama, Watareka.
