The Immigration & Emigration Department has stated that they will recommence issuing passports from tomorrow (09).
The Department had earlier said they had suspended issuing passports due to an issue in the computer system.
They say the issue is now fixed.

The Department of Immigration and Emigration said that there is a delay in issuing passports today (08) due to a system issue.
Immigration and Emigration spokesperson Piyumi Bandara has said that the Department has suspended accepting applications for passports, adding that the system is being restored.
