Itukama Fund balance to be credited to President’s Fund!

The remaining balance of Rs.209 million of the ‘Covid 19 Health and Social Security Fund’ or ‘Itukama Fund’ which was established in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, would be credited to the President’s Fund, Presidential Secretariat sources said.

The Itukama Fund received Rs.2,207 million by September 30, and the Cabinet decided to close the Fund with effect from October 18.

From the donations received to the Fund, an amount of Rs.1,997 million has been spent on PCR tests, maintenance of quarantine centers, vaccination programmes, purchase of beds for intensive care units, awareness campaigns and to settle the outstanding bills of the Health Ministry.
