Police have arrested seven suspects, including a woman and the alleged shooter, in connection with the killing of a 29-year-old man on Uswetakeiyawa beach on Thursday (20).
The suspects were apprehended from various locations across the island.
The victim was found shot dead by an unidentified gunman at Morganwatta Beach on the night of February 20.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the shooting may have been carried out by a close associate of Padme, a key suspect linked to the assassination of Ganemulla Sanjeewa.
