Jaffna most affected by dry weather!

The number of people affected by the dry weather has increased to 97,490.

The report issued by the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) showed that eight districts have been affected by the dry weather.

The eight districts are Ratnapura, Trincomalee, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Jaffna, Mannar, Mullaitivu and Badulla.

The number of families affected in these districts is 30,128.

The Jaffna District is the most affected district by the dry weather.

A total of 69,113 people have been affected in Jaffna.

4 SL players in ICC men’s ODI team of 2024

Four Sri Lankan players have been included in the ICC men’s ODI team of 2024.

Sri Lankan players Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga have been named in this manner.

Also, Charith Asalanka has been named as the captain while Kusal Mendis has been named as the wicket keeper of the team.

2 including Salochana Gamage granted bail

Two persons including former Western Provincial Councillor – Salochana Gamage, who were arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe, have been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (24).

Each suspect was granted bail, subject to a cash bail of Rs. 25,000, two sureties of Rs. 500,000 each, and an overseas travel ban. 

Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali also ordered that the guarantors must be close relatives of the two suspects.
