Japan donates vehicles & search equipment to SL Police

A total of 150 motorcycles, 74 vehicles and 115 pieces of search equipment have been handed over to the Sri Lanka Police by Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Takei Syunsuke.

The grant was handed over by the Japanese Government at a ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat earlier today (03) under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

According to the Japanese embassy in Sri Lanka, the vehicles and equipment is a part of JPY1 Bn grant to support GoSL’s efforts to combat terrorism in response to Easter Sunday Attacks in 2019.
