Governor of the North Western Province, Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda, has been banned by the United States of America from entering the country.
US Secretary of State Anthony J. Blinken pointed out that the ban has been imposed on Mr. Karannagoda and wife Ashoka.
According to the US State Department, it has been decided to impose the ban on Mr. Karannagoda for allegedly violating of human rights during his tenure as the Navy Commander during the war.
