The police state that details of the investigation into a house in Kataragama, allegedly belonging to the Rajapaksa family, will be directed to the Attorney General’s Department
Regarding the matter, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) recorded statements from the Basnayake Nilame of the Kataragama Devalaya – Dishan Gunasekara, and the Chief Incumbent of the Kirivehera Rajamaha Viharaya – Ven. Kobowaka Dhamminda Thero earlier this week.
Police additionally said that statements were also recorded from state institutions, local government bodies and officials, including the Kataragama Divisional Secretary, who was involved in granting various permissions during the construction of the house.
All statements will be forwarded to the Attorney General’s Department and further action will be taken according to the AG’s instructions.
