The Railways Department said that there has been further disruption to the train services along the Kelani Valley Railway Line.

Although the restoration work on the railway line was completed at around 4.00 am today (28), the department said that the maintenance work is still being carried out.

As a result, seven train journeys will be cancelled this morning, it said.

However, steps have been taken to operate trains up to the Narahenpita Railway Station for the convenience of passengers.

Two compartments of a train plying from Colombo Fort to Kosgama derailed near the Cotta Road Station in Borella last evening (27).

Accordingly, the Railways Department took steps to cancel all train journeys along the Kelani Valley Railway Line.
