A suspect allegedly involved in aiding the recent Kotahena shooting, which resulted in one fatality, has been arrested by the Colombo North Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau.
The 28-year-old suspect, a resident of Modara, was apprehended last afternoon (23) at the ‘Methsanda Sevana’ housing complex in Modara.
Investigations revealed that the suspect transported the shooter from Colombo Fort to Kosgashandiya using his three-wheeler and provided the firearm and ammunition used in the February 21 shooting.
He is also linked to an organized criminal and drug trafficker operating from abroad.
Authorities further uncovered that the same suspect supplied the firearm used in another shooting and murder in Kotahena on February 10.
The suspect has been handed over to the Kotahena Police Station for further investigation.
