The Kentucky Fried Chicken outlets in Sri Lanka had announced a ‘buy one get one free’ promotion yesterday (Dec. 18) for their popular chicken buckets.

However, many customers who had purchased from the Rajagiriya outlet, online, have been complaining of rancid chicken and the matter is making rounds on social media.

Cargills is the KFC’s franchisee in Sri Lanka.

Previously, a case was filed by a PHI attached to the Gothatuwa MOH office at the Colombo Chief Magistrate Court against an apple based bottled drink produced and distributed by Cargills Agrifoods Ltd.

Before that, a group of Cargills Food City staffers in Borella physically assaulting a young woman, also sparked widespread public ire.
