According to the National Building and Research Organisation (NBRO), landslide warnings have been issued for multiple areas in 04 districts as heavy rainfall continues in parts of the island.
Accordingly, warning issued for several Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSDs) and surrounding areas in the Galle, Kalutara, Kandy and Kegalle districts as follows:
Galle: Elpitiya Divisional Secretariat DSD
Kalutara: Palindanuwara Divisional Secretariat DSD
Kandy: Ganga Ihala Korale and Pasbage Korale Divisional Secretariat DSD
Kegalle: Bulathkohupitiya, Ruwanwella, Aranayake and Yatiyanthota Divisional Secretariat.
Landslide warnings will be in effect from 10.00 am today (May 27) to 10.00 pm tomorrow (May 28), the NBRO said.
