The Postmaster General Ruwan Sathkumara stated that all sick leave of postal workers have been cancelled.
The Postal Workers Trade Union Coalition commenced union action at midnight yesterday (12 June) by going on sick leave.
The convenor of the coalition, Chinthaka Bandara stated the trade union action will continue till 12 midnight today (13 June).
The postmaster General added that resorting to trade union action at a time when steps were being taken to sort out the issues cannot be condoned.
He further stated that all steps would be taken to ensure the uninterrupted service of the postal department.
