The lecturer attached to the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), who was arrested for making false statements to the media regarding the ISIS members in India was granted bail.
Dr. Punsara Amarasinghe was ordered to be released on a personal bail of Rs. 01 million by the Fort Magistrate’s Court after he was produced before the court today.
He was arrested for comments made during a recent televised interview regarding the four Sri Lankans arrested in India over suspected links with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
