Mahinda explains election results delay

As many have taken to social media to vent their frustration over the delay of the 2018 LG election results, Elections Commissioner - Mahinda Deshapriya explains the situation.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror' on this regard, the Elections Commissioner said that results of LG bodies would not be released until results of all the polling divisions falling under the respective LG institution are released.

He also refuted claims that the votes are being recounted, adding that results would be released soon.
