All-Island National Lottery Tickets Association (NLTA) has warned that the increase of lottery ticket prices could seriously impact sales.

Yesterday (June 29), the National Lotteries Board (NLB) and the Development Lotteries Board (DLB) announced their decision to increase lottery ticket prices with effect from July 06.  Accordingly, a Rs. 20 ticket would be Rs. 40.

Speaking at a media briefing today (30), NLTA President Krishan Marambagesaid that this could potentially harm the entire industry.

As a mark of protest, all lottery dealers / sellers would withdraw from selling lottery tickets on July 06, he added.
