Former Urban Councilor – Mahinda Kahandagama has been remanded over defrauding a person.
He was arrested earlier today (20) by the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau after a resident of Kandy had complained that Mr. Kahandagaman had defrauded Rs. 07 million from him, promising to provide a house from the Metro housing complex in Kompanna Vidiya.
The complainant had provided the money in the form of cash and cheques.
Taking up the case, the Colombo Chief Magistrate court ordered to remand him until June 22.
