The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered the release of former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage on bail.
The court set a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 along with five sureties of Rs. 1 million each, specifying that two of the sureties must be close relatives of the suspect.
Aluthgamage was in remand custody over the case of importing a shipment of substandard organic fertilizer during the previous government.
