Main suspect of Oman human trafficking racket, arrested

The main suspect said to be engaged in human trafficking racket in Oman, has been arrested by Immigration and Emigration officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport at Katunayake.

The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLFEB) said that the suspect was taken into custody last night (18) when he arrived in Sri Lanka from Dubai.The suspect is a 40-year-old resident of Wattala area and it is alleged that he was engaged in the racket while running an office in Maradana area.

The suspect has been handed over to the Katunayake Police for further investigation and he is scheduled to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate today (19).
