Former MP Malith Jayathilake’s father, P.S.P.Jayathilake who was a veteran educationist and left-wing leader in Kalutara has passed away.
He was a resident of Ramukkana, Banadaragama.
He was a trade union leader in the education field during the 80’s strike and lost his job for taking part in the strike.
He was a well-known left-wing leader who was primarily involved in social service activities in the area, and is also a strong advocate of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka.
His last rites will be held tomorrow evening (27) at the Bandaragama Public Cemetery.
