A man suspected for the strangling of three women to death and robbery has been arrested by the police.The arrest came after police conducted an investigation for the strangling of a woman and robbery in Ittapane on November 2, 2022 and strangling two women and robbery in Elpitiya on February 01.
Accordingly, the Elpitiya Division Crime Investigation Unit Police arrested a 34 year old resident from the Yagirala area on March 16 and handed him over to the Elpitiya Police.
Upon further questioning, the Police had discovered a necklace, three pairs of earrings and a mobile phone, which were stolen by the suspect.
It was also revealed that the suspect already faces court cases in Mathugama, Kalutara and Elpitiya Magistrate Courts.
Further investigations are underway.
