A man who allegedly killed his 22-year-old wife and buried her body behind the house was arrested in Wellampitiya.
Police said that the suspect had committed the murder following an argument with his wife at his home in Neeravippiddy, Mulliyawalai.
The mother of the deceased had filed a complaint with the police as her daughter had gone missing.
It has been revealed that the woman was killed on the night of the 21st.
The body has been exhumed and placed at the Mancholai Hospital for post-mortem examination.
