A 38-year-old man jumped onto a train with his 6-year-old daughter in Raja-ela, Kantale last night (06).
The Kantale Police said the victim had allegedly jumped onto the night train plying from Trincomalee to Colombo Fort.
The victims were residents of Peraru in Kantale.
The wife of the deceased man had travelled abroad for employment where she had allegedly engaged in an affair.
The deceased man has leapt in front of the train with her daughter due to the heartache caused by the news of wife’s affair.
The Kantale Police are conducting further investigations.
