Colombo High Court Judge R.S.S. Sapuwida, today (April 03) sentenced an accused to death after being found guilty of drug trafficking and being in possession of 16 grams of heroin.
The convict was arrested by the Organized Crimes Prevention Division on February 26, 2019, in the Grandpass area while in possession of heroin.
The death sentence was imposed after concluding that the prosecution had proven both charges beyond any reasonable doubts.
